Nira- a day in Tel-Aviv

Took half a day off today in Tel-Aviv, after a meeting concerning assisting children sick with juvenile onset diabetes. The city that never stops. More and more tall office buildings, fationable cafe’s and fancy restearunts all booked for lunch. Do people really stop to think that we basically live in a war situation, since we don’t have peace with our neighbors? probably not here. Fur from Sderot and from the other towns that are hit daily by rockets from Gaza, Tel-Aviv is just to busy developing and enjoying life. Polls say the Bibi, leader of the right wing likud party will win the election. Is peace going to be postponed for another four years now? Fills me with enxiety first thinking that. Than I remember it was leader of the same party, Begin, that signed the peace contract with Egypt in 1978, and former, but many years leader of that party- Ariel Sharon, that cleared all jewish settlements from Gaza in 2006. Maybe it is not too furfatched after all. The road is long, though, untill enough pressure be imposed on the new prime minister to start acting. So much to do. and where do we begin?
